The award winning BBC documentary series "Modern Times", screened: "Ten thousand Private Eyes", in 2000. It featured some cool music and several prominent investigators of the time. The director mentioned after it was aired that a good number of the trade associations complained because their members were not favored... For what it is worth, it is now generally accepted that there are: 10,000 private investigators in the UK, but, no one has adequately defined a "Private Eye" or precisely counted the profession.

Modern Times: 'Ten Thousand Private Eyes'


"Locate TV" described this documentary as: "The surreal work of private investigators in Britain, many of whom have assisted with cases involving child abduction, fraud and espionage" The Birmingham Evening Post reviewed the series at the time commenting: "Mundane methods of PI's revealed" The documentary was well received and is still shown today often on the BBC's extra and world wide channels.

"Throwing a Sickie" was a Channel 5, "UK Undercover", documentary that focused on malingerers and the sick note culture. It was aired in 2002. We became the principle investigators featured when the detective bureau that was going to be featured pulled out at the last minute. The director was keen to get himself in the documentary and he acted as the female who pulled off her wig at the end of the surveillance to reveal that she was actually a male...

UK Undercover: 'Throwing A Sickie'


It was fairly light hearted and gives a good record of "Where we were at", back then, before we specialised and concentrated on debtor trace, people trace, process serving and legal support services.
